Nancy Stephens

Hello and thank you for visiting Cygnet Photo. I'm Nancy, a wife to my wonderful husband Josh and a Momma to three wild and crazy kids.  One of my favorite quotes is “Cleaning house with kids is like eating Oreos while you are brushing your teeth.” So we cuddle up on the couch and read books or go outside and play instead of cleaning, often heading to the foothills for an adventurous hike.  And when we do clean the house, we like to have friends over for a tea party.

Birth is one of life’s most intimate and life changing moments. Family and friends may capture snapshots, but you will want the story and raw emotion of the journey captured in a beautiful way.  I’ve experienced the difference firsthand. Professional photographs bring back the memories you never want to forget, like the priceless look of dad seeing his baby for the first time.

The first birth I had the privilege of attending was my nephew who is now a teenager.  That WOW! feeling is still there with every heroic journey of birth you give me the opportunity to capture for you.  Let me tell your unique story through photography capturing the details you don’t want to forget or even missed in the intensity of birth. The excitement and anticipation, the struggle and labor of love, the relief and pure joy of the baby’s arrival, dad’s reactions, and the first baby snuggles afterwards will be cherished for generations through your photographs.

One more thing...a portion of my proceeds will go to support the adoption of a child into a forever family.  My first family photography sessions were an adoption fundraiser for dear friends who were in the process of adopting two lovely girls from Ukraine.  From that point on my desire has been to use my photography as a means to help support adoption.

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb”  Psalm 139:13 “I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him.” I Samuel 1:27

My three littles, born while our family lived in Kentucky.  Fun fact: The same midwife delivered all three though first 2 were in a different state in a different hospital.  Our midwife created the first hospital midwife group in our Kentucky city between the time our 2nd and 3rd child was born.  I love all the baby friendly birth options here in New Mexico, you Moms are blessed!
